Why have a building survey?
It is important to remember that your mortgage lender’s valuation report is not a survey. It just tells your lender whether or not the property is reasonable security for your loan. Sometimes, the valuation is done without anyone visiting the property.
Property purchases are the biggest investments that most of us undertake. It therefore makes sense to get a thorough understanding of the building’s condition. This allows you to make an informed decision about whether to buy the property. Importantly, it can also help you decide how much you would be happy to pay for it.
