Both the government and the Bank of England have introduced new funding schemes to help people get onto the property ladder, but with the cost of renting high as well, it seems that overall the UK property market is far too expensive.

The government has identified the problem of people not being able to put together the deposit required for them to get on the property ladder, because of this they have created the Help to Buy Scheme as a way of helping these first time buyers.

A Homebuyer Survey is basically a simplified and shorter version of a building survey and unlike a mortgage valuation, which only checks that the building you intend to buy is worth the money you want to borrow, a Homebuyer Survey inspects all the major areas of the home, rates them, and provides a valuation on the property.

89% of respondents who did not commission a home buyer survey now think it is important to take out independent advice and 73% of people who did commission a home buyer survey said it provided them with peace of mind and over 50% felt it was value for money.
