Stag-gering findings on a recent country house building survey

manor house building surveys

From stags to riches…this property had it all

A recent instruction for a full building survey of a £4,000,000 18th century country house had plenty to keep our surveyors busy.

With the property covering over 21,000 sq ft, surveying the grade I listed house itself was a substantial undertaking. The large indoor pool with steam and sauna rooms, the gym and the 7 stunning bedrooms should have been the highlights.

However, our surveyors were not expecting to be confronted by deer during their assessment of the 14.5 acres of parkland and gardens! With rutting season in full swing, our intrepid surveyors were understandably a little cautious when approached by a stag, but luckily the fellow in the picture just wanted his photo taken.

All in all, this job was an excellent opportunity for our surveyors to work together, combining specialist heritage and listed building knowledge with experience in prestigious houses and developments.

And of course, negotiating the local fauna and flora is all part of a day’s work!
