Timothy is a Partner of Allcott Associates LLP and the driver behind its growth from a small firm of building surveyors in the Midlands to a countrywide residential, commercial and valuations practice to be reckoned with.
Timothy started his career as a building surveyor at Watts PLC, an international firm of property consultants, before gaining chartered status with the RICS, and later, membership with CIOB and CABE. He still oversees growth and development of the practice, as well as researching new business opportunities and making sure that the company stays abreast of the latest developments in surveying.
Rather averse to sitting behind a desk all day, Timothy continues to work on the ground, carrying out surveys in the area around his home in Oxfordshire. This way, he is able to maintain individual client contact and support the surveying team with any queries and issues they may have on site.
Timothy specialises in residential surveying, listed buildings and conservation. He is an enthusiastic advocate of combining surveying and structural engineering expertise to deliver expert technical and structural insight for clients.

Matthew joined Allcott Associates in 2011 as a Partner and Chartered Building Surveyor, bringing a new dynamic to the partnership and a wealth of experience in both private commercial projects and public local authority work.
Matthew first met Timothy when they both worked at Watts PLC. They are both fond of recounting a moment when they were standing on top of the high-rise Rotunda building in Birmingham together, during a commercial survey. It was at that moment, gazing across the Birmingham skyline, that they first floated the idea of running their own surveying firm.
Since joining the company, Matthew has been instrumental in growing the commercial side of the firm, which has flourished to become a thriving practice. Matthew’s technical knowledge of the construction industry is evidenced by the broad range of work he has delivered to excellent standards; testament to this, much of our commercial work is through repeat business.
Matthew also enjoys supporting the residential work that we do, and particularly enjoys the opportunity to use his early career experience of historic building management when inspecting older properties and listed buildings.
