Supporting the Next Generation of Surveyors in Sheffield

Students studying practical, vocation-related courses, like the ones on offer at The Sheffield College, are key to the future of our industry. We’re delighted to support two such students this year by providing equipment to help with their studies.

T Level and BTEC courses provide fantastic opportunities to gain crucial skills needed for working in industries such as building surveying. There are challenges involved, however. Modern-day teaching using online resources is an excellent way to take advantage of the flexibility the internet provides and the plethora of high-quality information that can be found online, but it can present an obstacle to students who do not have access to a laptop or PC.

Allcott Associates has provided two bursaries for this years’ cohort of students at Sheffield College, to support them with accessing the technology needed to efficiently complete their studies. The equipment they buy with the funds will help them both during their time at the College and in their onward career.

As a firm of building surveyors and structural engineers, we have a deep appreciation of the practical and technical skills that the students at Sheffield are developing through their studies. The expertise they are gaining is crucial for the future of the surveying and structural engineering industry, and it’s a privilege to be able to support anyone throwing themselves into their studies, particularly during the past year when times have been financially difficult for a lot of young people.

We are thrilled to hear that the bursaries are already being put to good use, and we look forward to continuing to support Sheffield College and their students into the future.
