Chartered RICS Home Surveyors: South London

2nd Floor, Stephenson House
Croydon, CR0 6SR

We provide RICS property surveys across the South London region, from Wimbledon and Beckenham to Clapham and Croydon.

Our local South London building surveyors offer one-to-one advice, tailored inspections and some of the most comprehensive reports available.

Our RICS Level 3 building surveys and across the South London region are the most thorough type of RICS survey available on the market. They will give you a thorough description of the condition and structural integrity of your property, as well as detailed insight on the repairs and maintenance that are necessary. A full building survey (sometimes referred to as a ‘full structural survey‘) looks at every possible aspect of the building.

Our experienced locally-based surveyors are RICS chartered and experts in the local property, with an in-depth knowledge of the Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian houses common in the area, as well as experience in newer, more modern homes. They cover a region stretching from Brixton and Clapham, west to Wimbledon Village, down to Worcester Park, Croydon and east to Beckenham and Bromley.

A full building survey will cover everything from serious structural defects to general wear and tear, helping you avoid costly repairs. Importantly, this type of property survey also includes a discussion of potential problems that may be hidden. Our chartered surveyors provide comprehensive, tailored advice to help you understand the repairs and maintenance that will be required to keep the property in good condition, along with the associated costs. Such information allows you to negotiate on price if you are buying a property, or can help you avoid losing a purchaser if you are selling.

Our surveyors are experts in issues that are commonly found in building surveys in the South London area, and have extensive experience in surveying the Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian properties that are common in the area, as well as 20th century properties and modern builds. They understand local issues such as prior bomb damage, subsidence and extensive alterations and conversions, and will ensure you know your property inside and out.

An RICS Level 2 HomeBuyer survey are appropriate for modern, well-built properties with a standard construction type, that have not had substantial alterations. While briefer than a Level 3 report, they will highlight any serious defects with a property and can provide reassurance before a purchase is made.

The HomeBuyer survey report is written in straightforward language and follows a set format, highlighting any problems that could be a danger to people, that are serious in nature or that could be detrimental to the property price. The report includes a top-line discussion of repairs and maintenance.

Our building surveyors in South London provide some of the most detailed HomeBuyer reports on the market. While this type of building survey is slightly less comprehensive than a full building survey, your building surveyor will be on hand to explain their findings and answer any questions you may have.

Choosing between a Level 2 and Level 3 survey can be tricky, and it depends on both the property and the person. If you need a comprehensive account of a house, with detail on visible and potential hidden defects, and thorough advice on how to repair and maintain the home, a Level 3 survey is likely to me more appropriate. Conversely, if you believe the property is in fair condition and you would like to check that there are no serious defects, a Level 2 survey can suffice.
