Allcott Associates Chartered Surveyors Expands into Cambridge

Allcott Associates is expanding into the Cambridgeshire region, providing RICS building surveys and HomeBuyer reports in Cambridge itself, St Neots, IpswichBury St Edmunds, Ely, Saffron Walden and surrounding areas.

Cambridge has a vibrant property market that continues to experience rapid growth. The city has a strong economy, thanks to technical and medical employment sectors having a substantial presence in the region. It also has fast transport links to London and is renowned for providing a great quality of life.

A home in the city doesn’t come cheap though, with an average property price of £424K as of June 2021 – a 55% increase on June 2011’s average price of £273K. Unsurprisingly, these prices have pushed some people out of central Cambridge, with areas such as Ely, St Neots, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds growing in popularity amongst people looking for larger houses.

Growth of the Cambridge property market is set to continue, with our surveyors finding data suggesting that between 2011 to 2031, the number of households will increase by over 87,000 in the Cambridgeshire region.

Getting a building survey by an independent RICS chartered surveyor when buying a house in the Cambridgeshire region is therefore prudent. Building surveys give you a thorough understanding of the condition of the property you are buying, which in turn allows you to make an educated decision on how much you are willing to pay for it. Costly repairs and maintenance issues will be identified, allowing purchasers to budget for these. There is also the potential to negotiate on the sale price according to the survey findings. Your building survey will be tailored to your property and your needs, so that you go into the purchase fully informed and aware of what you are taking on.
